Release notes 1.9.6

By Erik Jälevik on 4 March 2025

Just another maintenance release with a few fixes for newly reported bugs.

Improvements

  • Add volume controls to audio and video preview players, which allow fully muting audio. Volume changes are persisted and applied to all subsequently opened previews.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed modified dates in zip archives not being preserved when extracting.
  • Windows: When dragging and dropping a file from Fileside to an external app, new drags attempted within the external app became temporarily blocked. This is now fixed.
  • Fixed folder previews not respecting the Group folders before files setting.
  • Fixed folder previews not displaying hidden files dimmed.
  • Stopped double clicks on the 1px gap between files from navigating up.
  • Stopped double clicks on the empty space in a search results view from navigating up.
  • Removed useless empty hamburger menu from audio preview player.
  • Fixed occasional audio player render glitch when opened to the right.
  • Fixed layout initials not splitting on hyphens.

Four weeks of voice computing - here's what I learnt

Full Disk Access - what is it and what does it do?

A quick search for “Full Disk Access” reveals plenty of results, although some are misleading if not outright dishonest. In fact, the vast majority of applications should have no reason to need Full Disk Access.
